Gia's 12 Best Outfits from Euphoria
June 3, 2023 - by Themba Mahlangu - 6 min read
Gia Bennett (played by Storm Reid) dresses just like you’d think Rue’s cute little sister would. She’s all about the colorful crop shirts, denim jeans, and Nike Air Force 1s - a look any teenage girl would want to rock.
Since Gia was only 13 in Season 1, her fashion choices were understandably more low-key. But towards the end of the second season, we can see her style evolve, with her looks getting more daring and bold. It will be interesting to see what outfits she’ll be serving up in Season 3!

and blue ripped denim jeans. It’s impossible to not sympathize with Gia. Her heartbreaking performance as the caring younger sister to Zendaya’s Rue Bennett perfectly portrays how addiction impacts families.
Despite only being in her early teens, Gia remains a source of support for Rue, even when things are at their toughest. This was evident from the very start of Euphoria when Gia called 911 after finding Rue overdosing.

- Gia’s Outfit When She Found Rue Overdosing (S1EP2)
This scene took place the summer before Rue’s junior year. Due to the summer heat, Gia’s wearing denim shorts and a white-grey-colored shirt. When she finds Rue overdosed next to a puddle of vomit, you can see the fear written all over her face. It’s hard to imagine how scared Gia must have felt in that moment, but it brought a tear to Rue’s (and our) eye when asked about her summer at a school stand-up.

- Gia’s Green Zipper Shirt (S1EP2)
Gia was spotted wearing this outfit at the hospital right after Rue’s overdose. As the doctors recommended that their mom Leslie take Rue directly to rehab, she followed their advice and drove her there.
Gia was by her sister’s side, wearing a green zip top. It’s no coincidence she is wearing green - the color of hope. Gia was still visibly worried, but at the same time, there was a glimmer of hope that her big sister would finally overcome her addiction and remain sober.

However, we can’t help but worry when Gia goes missing while smoking weed with some boys. Rue’s addiction has caused a lot of chaos for their family, and understandably, Gia’s actions are viewed through a more worried lens due to her sister’s dangerous missteps.
¶
- Gia’s Halloween Costume (S1EP6)
At the Halloween party, Gia was spotted wearing a black beret hat, neon orange turtleneck pullover and stylish leather coat. Some thought she dressed as a Black Panther Party member from 1966; others saw a resemblance to Janet Jackson’s character in Poetic Justice.
But the real drama at the party was when Rue confronted Troy about his intentions with Gia and threatened never to get her sister involved in his drug use again.

Gia is definitely stepping up her fashion game in Season 2 of Euphoria. She’s ditched her basic crop top and denim jeans for more mature and daring looks. She also starts to wear wigs.

, as Rue shares her worries about relapsing. Rue confesses to her little sister that she plans to start smoking weed again but insists she won’t do anything harder (of course, she has no intention to only leave it at weed).
Rue knows she won’t be able to stay sober for long and worries about getting caught. So she lies to Gia, claiming that weed helps with her anxiety and even goes so far as saying it would prevent her from killing herself. Rue’s story is a cover-up in case she gets caught, so she can blame it on the marijuana.
Gia’s camouflage shirt perfectly mirrors her conflicted feelings about supporting her sister while keeping her on a healthy path. Gia listens to Rue with a concerned look on her face, worried about what’s to come.

Gia is wearing this outfit as Rue flees the car on the way to rehab. Gia is scared for her sister’s life. Poor girl has been through so much and has yet to act out, even though she has every right to. But instead, Gia remains selfless and supports her sister through her battle with addiction. The sisters share a bond based on love, fierce, and loyalty - she is the Ying to Rues Yang.

, denim jeans, and a beaded necklace. It was at this dinner that she met Ali for the first time.
He is the first to acknowledge Gia’s feelings as valid and that it’s ok to feel angry at Rue. Of all the characters, Ali understands the depths of trauma and drug abuse on the family the best.
This scene was super important as Gia’s so used to playing second fiddle that she can’t recognize her own pain. For the first time, Gia’s voice is heard and we are fully here for it!
¶
- Gia’s Cherry Pyjama (S2EP6)
Gia looks adorable as ever in her cherry and strawberry-printed pajamas as she gets ready for bed after dinner with Ali. Despite being angry with Rue, Gia’s love for her sister shines through as she defends her and wants to sleep in her bed, showcasing their special bond.
Gia is a shining character and deserves more spotlight on the show! Her ability to convey feelings of hopelessness and fear is remarkable and makes it easy to sympathize with her character. Let’s hope we will finally get blessed with a whole episode of Gia in Season 3!
